Wallet Guide is a quick reference for the top tracked multipliers in your wallet. Use it when you want to scan category and purchase-type earning rates. For advice about a specific purchase or merchant, ask the chat instead.
Open Wallet Guide
Tap the bolt button beside the main action in the chat header. A one-time Wallet Guide card may also appear when you start a new chat.
Wallet Guide appears after Cardzen has successfully loaded at least one tracked multiplier and recommendation from a selected, unfrozen card. It stays hidden while card details are still loading, when every selected card is frozen, when all eligible multipliers are untracked, or when the loaded wallet has no safe recommendation to show.
Read the Rows
- Everyday card appears once at the top. Use it when no category bonus applies. If that recommendation has a more specific gray condition, Wallet Guide shows that condition instead.
- Each category row shows its top card and tracked multiplier.
- Tap or click a category row to smoothly reveal or hide meaningful purchase-type recommendations, such as Hotels beneath Travel. With reduced motion enabled, the row changes immediately instead.
- A category with no broad recommendation may say Best by purchase type and show only its specific recommendations after expansion.
- Less common categories can appear under More ways to earn. Closing that group also closes its nested category rows, so they reopen collapsed next time.
- Category updates means a purchase-type recommendation changed recently. It stays visible whether the category is open or closed. When the category itself also changed, both updates share one comma-separated green line. Expand the category to additionally see the changed purchase-type row.
- Short gray notes describe stored conditions such as activation, a required booking channel, or a merchant restriction.
Opening Wallet Guide clears the unread dot and teaser immediately. Green update messages inside the guide remain visible for three full days, exactly three rolling 24-hour periods, from the first time you open the guide with that change present.
Wallet Guide compares displayed points, miles, and cash-back rates with a product ranking rule. It does not claim those rewards have equal cash value.
For a selectable multiplier, Wallet Guide uses the earning rate for the option currently recorded in Cardzen. A safe issuer default may be used until you record a different option. If a required selection is missing or no longer available, Wallet Guide does not guess from the card's general rate; that multiplier may stay out of recommendations until you update it from the card's Multipliers tab.
Location on iPhone
In the iOS app, you can enable location at the top of Wallet Guide. When Cardzen confidently identifies a nearby place with an applicable recommendation, it moves that category to the top, immediately above Everyday card, and marks the applicable card. Location changes only the presentation for that open. It does not change your saved rankings or card data.
Location is optional. Wallet Guide uses the nearest supported place within 50 meters and ignores nearby place types it cannot map to a Wallet Guide category. If it cannot apply a nearby recommendation, your normal rankings stay in place and the location line says No nearby recommendation available. instead of disappearing. Wallet Guide does not store coordinates or location history in its offline cache or analytics.
Offline and Refresh
After one successful signed-in wallet sync, Wallet Guide can recompute from the last successfully synced wallet while you are offline. It applies the current date so expired tracked offers can disappear. There is no separate offline badge.
When you reconnect, Cardzen refreshes cards and multipliers. The prior offline copy remains available until a complete refresh succeeds.
Activation and Spending Caps
Wallet Guide treats every tracked multiplier as usable. It does not know whether you activated an offer or reached its spending cap.
If you have not activated a multiplier or have reached its cap:
- Open My Cards.
- Open the card and select Multipliers.
- Expand the multiplier and turn its tracking toggle off.
The multiplier disappears from Wallet Guide after the update succeeds. If you turn off the final tracked multiplier in your selected, unfrozen cards, the Wallet Guide button and any open Wallet Guide disappear too. Turn tracking back on when the multiplier is usable again; Wallet Guide becomes available after the multiplier data is restored, but it does not reopen automatically.
