Cardzen can send optional iOS reminders when tracked benefits need attention.
What Notifications Are
Notifications are optional push reminders from the Cardzen iOS app. In v1, they are not available on web or Android. Your dashboard inside the app remains the source of truth for cards, credits, renewals, and status, so always confirm details there before acting.
What You Can Receive
- Expiring credit reminders: Pro users can receive reminders when tracked card credits have unused value and are nearing expiration.
- Weekly roundup: Pro users can receive a Monday push when tracked credits expire in the next 7 days. This is a push notification that is separate from the Daily Zen inside the app, which appears when you start a new chat.
- Card renewals: All users can receive reminders for upcoming renewals on tracked cards with an open date.
Turning Notifications On
You can turn notifications on from three places in the iOS app:
- The onboarding step when you first set up Cardzen
- The one time prompt the app can show after setup
- The Notifications settings screen
If you use Cardzen on web or Android, notifications are unavailable there. You can install the iOS app from the App Store if you want push reminders on iPhone.
Settings Controls
The Notifications settings screen includes:
- All notifications: the master toggle that pauses every reminder.
- What to send: three category toggles named Expiring credit reminders, Weekly roundup, and Card renewals. The Expiring credit reminders toggle covers advance reminders and the day of expiration send. There is no separate Last chance toggle.
- Display: choose Standard or Private lock screen wording. Standard can show more detail. Private uses generic wording.
- Timing: choose a send window of Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or Night.
Free users can keep card renewal reminders on. Expiring credit reminders and the weekly roundup require Pro.
Frequency and Quiet Hours
Credit reminders are capped at one push per day. Advance credit reminders are also capped at three notification days in a rolling 7 day window. If a credit expires today, a day of reminder can still send even when that weekly cap has already been reached.
When multiple credits are due on the same day, Cardzen groups them into one credit reminder. The weekly roundup can send once each Monday in your selected send window when you have credits expiring in the next 7 days. If that roundup would cover exactly the same credits as a grouped 7-day reminder, Cardzen sends the reminder instead of repeating the same update. Card renewal reminders are rare and can send 30 days and 1 day before a tracked card renewal.
Cardzen avoids quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM local time. The send window picker keeps reminders inside local daytime and evening hours.
Lock Screen Privacy
Standard wording may show the credit name and unused amount for credit reminders. Card credit reminders never name a card on the lock screen.
Standard renewal reminders may name the card that is renewing. If several cards renew on the same date, Standard can show the count instead. Private wording uses generic text for both credit reminders and card renewal reminders.
Re-enabling Notifications
If iOS notification permission is off, open iOS Settings and allow notifications for Cardzen. The app cannot show the Apple permission prompt again after you have answered it once.
If you are using web or Android and want iOS push reminders, install Cardzen from the App Store.
Reliability
Push delivery is best effort and not guaranteed. Network conditions, iOS settings, Focus modes, and Apple delivery can delay or prevent a notification. Treat notifications as a backup, and always confirm your current credit and renewal details inside Cardzen.
