Sometimes Cardzen may ask you to link a sign-in method after you choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.
This means an account already exists for the same email address, but it uses a different sign-in method. Cardzen asks you to sign in with the existing method first, then it adds the Google or Apple method to that same account.
Recommended path: if you are already signed into the Cardzen account you want to keep, the simpler way to add Google or Apple is Sign In & Security -> Connect from Account. Connect attaches the new provider directly to the account you are signed into, with strict same-email validation. Use the link flow below when you arrive here from a signed-out social sign-in and Cardzen prompts you to sign in to your existing account.
Why This Page Appears
The link page appears when Firebase sees that the email from Google or Apple matches an existing Cardzen account that uses another provider.
For example:
- You created Cardzen with email and password
- Later, you chose Continue with Google for the same email
- Cardzen asked you to sign in with your password
- After that, Google sign-in was added to the same account
Your cards, chat history, credits, preferences, and plan stay on the same Cardzen account.
Which Method to Choose
Choose the method you already used for this Cardzen account:
- Choose Password if you originally signed up with email and password
- Choose Google if this account already uses Google and you are adding Apple
- Choose Apple if this account already uses Apple and you are adding Google
If Cardzen shows all three choices, pick the one you believe belongs to the existing account. This can happen when the sign-in provider does not return a provider list.
After the Link
After you finish the page, the new method is added to the same Cardzen account. Next time, you can use either linked method to sign in.
You can review account settings from Account.
If You Reload the Page
If you refresh the link page, Cardzen sends you back to Sign In. This is expected. The link page uses a short-lived credential and does not save it in browser storage.
To retry:
- Go back to Sign In
- Choose the Google or Apple button again
- Follow the link page steps again
Apple Hide My Email
If you use Apple and want Cardzen to recognize an existing account, choose Share My Email when Apple asks. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple may give Cardzen a private relay address that does not match your existing account email, so Cardzen may create a separate account.
If that happens, contact support@cardzen.ai and we can help review the accounts.
