Cardzen has two plans: Free and Pro. Pro is sold on two billing rails depending on where you sign up:
- Web app (app.cardzen.ai): Cardzen bills you directly through Stripe, our payments processor.
- iOS app: Pro is sold as an Apple In App Purchase, and Apple charges your Apple ID.
Both rails unlock the same Pro features. Your Pro entitlement is keyed to your Cardzen account, so a purchase on one platform unlocks Pro on the other for the same account.
Choose Your Plan
- Free: Choose well. Build your wallet, explore supported card details, and ask which card fits a purchase.
- Pro: Stay ahead. Track supported credits and benefits, get reminders before important dates, and keep what needs attention in view.
Your Plan
See your current plan on the Plan page or in the Billing card in your Account settings.
- Free users see a way to upgrade to Pro.
- Pro users see Manage Billing.
What Pro Includes
- Credit and benefit tracking with expiring alerts
- AI actions: make card and credit changes right in chat
- Daily Zen: personalized morning insights
- Credit usage analytics and annual recap
- More chats with the upgraded AI model
- Live web search for information
- Natural AI voice playback
- Priority support
The average premium cardholder leaves up to $1,500 in credits and points on the table every year.
Pricing
Pricing may vary by platform (the web app at app.cardzen.ai vs the Cardzen iOS app). Open the Plan page in Cardzen to see the current monthly and yearly prices for your platform, along with any free trial that may be offered. Family Sharing is not enabled on either platform.
Upgrade to Pro
Open the Plan page in Cardzen and tap or click the upgrade option. Pro activates as soon as your purchase confirms.
- On the web, the upgrade button takes you through Stripe checkout. Stripe charges the payment method you provide.
- In the iOS app, the upgrade button uses Apple In App Purchase. Apple charges your Apple ID payment method. If a free trial is offered for you on iOS, it applies automatically.
You only need to subscribe once. Your account holds the Pro entitlement, so signing in on the other platform shows you as Pro automatically.
Restore Purchases (iOS only)
If you previously bought Pro through the iOS app and you do not see Pro after reinstalling or signing in on a new device, open the Plan page in the iOS app and tap Restore Purchases. Apple will check your Apple ID and restore the entitlement.
The web does not need a restore button. Your subscription is tied to your Cardzen account, so signing in on app.cardzen.ai already reflects whatever Pro state your account holds.
Manage Your Plan
Tap or click Manage Billing on the Plan page. The destination depends on which rail bills you and which platform you are on:
- Stripe-billed Pro on the web: Manage Billing opens the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can update your payment method, change your billing period, or cancel your subscription.
- Apple-billed Pro on the iOS app: Manage Billing opens Apple's subscription settings (Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions). You can cancel or change your Apple subscription there.
- Apple-billed Pro on the web: Manage Billing shows a short note that your subscription was purchased through Apple and must be managed in the Cardzen iOS app or in your iPhone's Subscriptions settings. The web cannot open Apple's settings on your behalf.
- Stripe-billed Pro on the iOS app: Manage Billing shows a short note that your subscription was purchased on the web and must be managed there. The iOS app does not deep link to Stripe by design.
You can only manage a paid subscription where it was purchased. If Apple billed you, manage it through Apple. If Stripe billed you, manage it in the web app at app.cardzen.ai.
Renewal and Cancellation
- Active Pro renews automatically.
- Canceled Pro keeps Pro until the end of the current billing period. After that date, you return to Free.
To cancel:
- Stripe (web): Open Manage Billing on the Plan page, then choose Cancel in the Stripe Customer Portal. You can resume any time before the end date.
- Apple (iOS): Open Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions on your iPhone, tap Cardzen Pro, and choose Cancel Subscription. The iOS app's Manage Billing button takes you straight there.
Downgrading from Pro to Free
Your credit history is always saved. Downgrading to Free does not delete or reset anything. You lose the ability to edit credit usage and see your real remaining values (the dashboard switches to a masked view that shows full possible values), and the AI stops taking actions on your behalf. Your card list, tracking preferences, and historical usage records stay intact. The moment you upgrade again on either rail, the full experience comes back instantly with no migration or rebuild.
Payment Failures
If a renewal payment fails, a warning appears on the Plan page. Your Pro access is preserved while the renewal retries.
- Stripe subscriptions: Open Manage Billing to update your payment method and clear the warning.
- Apple subscriptions: Apple notifies you and offers a retry path inside iOS Settings. Update your Apple ID payment method there.
Refunds
For billing questions or refund requests, contact support@cardzen.ai.
- Stripe subscriptions: Cardzen support handles refund requests directly. If a billing dispute is opened with your card issuer, Pro access is paused until it resolves.
- Apple subscriptions: Refunds are issued by Apple, not Cardzen. Use Apple's request flow at reportaproblem.apple.com. Cardzen cannot issue Apple refunds, but support can help confirm what your account shows.
Account Deletion While Subscribed
Account deletion affects subscriptions differently depending on who bills you.
- Stripe (web): The delete flow cancels the active Stripe subscription before deleting the account.
- Apple (iOS): Apple controls the In App Purchase. Cardzen cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf. Before you delete your account, cancel the subscription through Apple. The delete confirmation in the iOS app makes this explicit.
Which plan should I pick? Yearly works well if you plan to stay for the year. Start monthly if you want to try Pro first; you can switch to yearly later from Manage Billing on the same rail.
